RuneScape 10th Anniversary

Introduction

Let them eat cake!

January 2011 marks the tenth anniversary of RuneScape, and Party Pete isn't going to let that pass without a party! He has given his party knights a fortnight's leave to travel the world and organise spontaneous celebrations, taking his drop party balloons and party chest with them!

In an effort to get people dancing in the streets, Party Pete has filled the balloons with candles and cake to celebrate RuneScape's ten years. It has been said that the sounds of balloon-popping echoes as far as the Deep Wilderness, Ape Atoll and the Eastern Lands!

Have Your Cake and Eat It

Official drop parties are organised by JMods, and take place at specific times on certain worlds. These parties aren't in the Party Room, so expect to pop balloons in the strangest of places (although you won't be stomping in the Wilderness or activities, unfortunately). To find out where to be, so you can take part in the drop party and grab anniversary candles and cake from the drop balloons, visit the official RuneScape forums, the official RuneScape Facebook page and the RuneScape Twitter channel. It's also worth sharing information with other players in the community - you know, to be nice!

The drop parties are supervised and begun by JMods, and feature dancing knights and the traditional party chests. Add your own items to the party chest, including stacked and noted items if you so choose, and wait for the balloons to drop before you begin popping with the whole community! JMods reserve the right to change any of the items in the drop party chest. The balloons themselves will contain items placed in the chest by other players, as well as two new items: the 10th Anniversary candles and 10th Anniversary cake!

It's my party, and I'll pop if I want to

Rewards

10th Anniversary cake and candles can be obtained from balloons at these drop parties during the 10th Anniversary week. They can also be received from conventional drop parties on drop party worlds, or they can be dropped by any of the creatures between Rimmington and the Sawmill, the oldest areas of RuneScape.

To make your complete and candlelit 10th Anniversary cake, collect 10 candles and place them on the cake before lighting them. You will need to light all 10 candles to make the completed cake, which can be retrieved at any time from Diango once you have completed at least one lit cake.
