Greetings, adventurers and developers of the 2011Scape community!
We've got some fantastic news to share! Our client has undergone a significant upgrade, all thanks to the incredible efforts of Pazaz. This update involves a modern deobfuscation (deob) process, making it far more convenient and legal way for developers to collaborate and contribute to refining our client. What does this mean for you, our valued players? More frequent improvements to the client!
Technical Tidbit: The enhancements stem from the OpenRS2 project led by Graham, focusing on expanding compatibility and automating client organization and deobfuscation. This is a remarkable stride forward, especially for developers looking to dive into client code or kickstart new projects. Although OpenRS2 is a separate initiative, its advancements have greatly benefited 2011Scape.
New Launcher Alert: To experience the improvements, you'll need to grab the latest version of our launcher. Head over to Play Now button at the top of our website to download it and get back into the game with all the new features!
A Glimpse into OpenRS2's Developments:
Long-Term Vision for OpenRS3 Deobs: The journey doesn't stop here! Future goals include centralizing refactor efforts, extending support to RS2-RS3 and OSRS, improving transformers for better handling of edge cases, and creating cross-rev deob mappings. Plus, there's a plan to offer a gradle project for an out-of-the-box build experience.
Stay tuned for more updates, and happy adventuring on 2011Scape!

- The OpenRS2 deobs cover RS2 versions 186 to 667, available on GitHub (RuneWiki/openrs2-nonfree).
- Pazaz has ensured that revisions are well-organized as branches, enabling easy regeneration with OpenRS2 updates.
- Not all transformations are tailored for every version, but notable ones like 225, 530, 578, and 667 are tested and examples are available on Pazaz's personal GitHub.

Stay tuned for more updates, and happy adventuring on 2011Scape!
